Matt Traylen joined Mazda in 2018 as Consumer Finance Director, where he helped MNAO select their current finance partner, Mazda Financial Services. Since then he took over the Trade Cycle Group while standing up MNAO’s RV Group with great success, winning their 1st RV award in 5 years and are currently segment leaders with the all-new CX-30. Mazda is looking out for more success with several new launches coming over the next year.
He was previously Head of Financial Services at Faraday Future, a connected EV start-up in Los Angeles. He worked on several different ownership, mobility, and access models for their launch into the luxury connected-EV market.
Matt began his career at Automotive Lease Guide, creating many industry-first predictive models, still widely used today. As ALG’s Chief Client Partner, he was responsible for Captive and OEM communications and crafted ALG into the benchmark 3rd party value provider in auto lease ABS transactions.
Matt then led the RV Risk team at Toyota Financial Services, also advising on all new vehicle introductions, including the (Tesla-powered) RAV4 EV and hydrogen-powered Mirai.
Matt received a double Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. After completing his post-grad coursework in Economics, he studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara, before joining ALG.
