Steven Jones

Steven has been an examiner with the OCC since 1985. During that time, he has supervised banks across the entire spectrum from community banks, to midsize banks to large banks. For the last sixteen years, he has held various positions measuring the effectiveness of retail credit risk management at complex and non‐complex banks across all retail product lines. These include serving as EIC of several large specialty credit card banks including sub‐prime issuers, bankcard issuers and private label issuers. Steven also served as a Lead Retail Expert in the Midwestern District, in retail credit risk technical leadership roles in midsize bank supervision, as the functional retail EIC for several midsize banks, and as a member of the retail supervision team in a large bank. Steven assumed the position of Director of Retail Credit Policy in May 2016.

Steven graduated from East Central Oklahoma State University in 1985 with a degree in Finance. He earned his NBE commission in 1990 and his FTR designation in 2013.
